VDC Engineer

Leveraging the design, engineering, and construction knowledge of Suffolk and Suffolk Design, the Digital Engineering Team is charged with executing Virtual Design & Construction, Digital Delivery, and creating innovative solutions in tech and process to ensure Suffolk is the best contractor in every region it operates.

This position supports Digital Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, and Digital Delivery process for Suffolk’s Las Vegas region. Executing these services on one or more Suffolk projects is the prime responsibility of this role.

• Develop 3D, 4D, and 5D models for site safety & logistics plans and trade coordination.
• Create clash reports for coordination meetings. Run trade coordination meetings; capture meeting minutes, issues, and RFIs and work to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Collect, track, and report on KPI data.
• Provide training and support of software and tools to project teams.
• Support vendor management and billing.
• Support Digital Delivery process management and delivery, ensuring successful project team experiences with all approved 3rd party vendors.
• Proactively develop and maintain relationships with new and existing project teams.
• Manage scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for Digital Engineering services on projects.
• Perform design model quality control reviews and create reports.
• Support the successful delivery of Digital Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, and Digital Delivery process for Suffolk’s Las Vegas region.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.

• Ability to read and understand contract documents and drawings, to navigate 3d models, and to identify different building systems.
• 1-5 years of VDC related design and/or construction experience.
• 4-year degree in an accredited industry related curriculum.
• Competency with the following applications: Procore, Autodesk Suite, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam at a minimum
