Principal Road Designer

Description

• Ensure the compliance with Arcadis design standards and national design standards; and
• Maintain ongoing communication with relevant Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients when required, to ensure effective communications on matters relevant to the project.
• Assist the Project Manager in determining the resources required for a project plan including elements suitable for outsourcing;
• Lead a road design project team, including coaching and development of capabilities.
• Identify, communicate and optioneer with the team to resolve technical road design issues.
• Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
• Manage, plan, resource and complete the assigned delivery of the Road Design component of projects within agreed budgets and deadlines.
• Ensure the production of project documents that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other quality standards dictated by the nature of the project; and

Requirements

• Significant years of experience in a project delivery environment with demonstrated participation in the delivery of major road infrastructure projects, particularly roads and highways design
• Knowledge of local authority CADD standards and deliverables (i.e. QLD TMR ,TfNSW, VICRoads)
• Knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design is essential, Knowledge and experience in applying other state based standards is desirable.
• Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads is highly desirable.
• A suitable a degree or qualification relevant to Civil Engineering.
• Proficiency in 12D essential.
