What you would be doing

  • Follow work instructions to produce tubing according to customer specifications.
  • Assign work orders to maintenance employees and track work schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
  • Unload and receive incoming materials from suppliers.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections, removing burrs and ensuring clean surfaces inside and outside of tubes.
  • Move materials into inventory storage, staging, and work areas.
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Follow rolling schedules to ensure tubes meet size, gauge, length, and material specifications.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and transfer systems to move materials.
  • Prepare, stack, and assemble bundles properly to prevent product damage.
  • Work in a warehouse/plant setting where conditions may be heated, unheated, dusty, and noisy.
  • Band bundles of tubes and transport them to cutting processes or storage areas.
  • Assist mill operators with setups and supply tube mill machinery with steel coils.
  • Identify and reject non-conforming products (e.g., scratches, weld splits, end-cut defects).

  • Willingness to learn and use measuring devices for tubing inspections.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE and comply with safety policies.
  • Legible handwriting for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations, including fractions and decimals.
  • Repack and band tubing according to customer requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while managing workload priorities.
  • Dependable and able to work assigned shifts consistently.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors, co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Recognize steel shapes, sizes, and mill tolerances.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and steel materials.
  • Understanding and ability to follow semi-complex verbal and written instructions.
