  • Follow changing state and federal regulations on HEO eligibility and requirements and ensure faculty and staff are informed accordingly.
  • Oversee the maintenance of training equipment and facilities, ensuring all machinery is in good working order, and the training environment is safe for employees, faculty, and staff.
  • Instruct paving equipment operation, safety, and basic maintenance to the employees of Hubbard Construction. Instruction will utilize both simulators and actual equipment in the field.
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Serve on committees addressing enrollment, retention, and employee success as it relates to the training program and related areas of study.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Work may be performed on streets with significant amounts of traffic.
  • Assess employee's knowledge and skills through written tests, practical exams, and performance assessments, providing constructive feedback and additional support where needed.
  • Attending state and regional training for implementation at the local level.
  • Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Promote and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with collecting and maintaining data for developing and monitoring performance metrics and measurements.

  • Frequent ability to navigate through office environment, including periodic use of stairs and/or elevator, as needed;
  • Strong ability to assess the skills and competencies of operators and their potential.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of asphalt paving equipment, primarily, but not limited to, rollers, pavers, screed, MTV's, skid steers, milling machines, tack trucks, and broom tractors.
  • Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone;
  • Experience providing training to both large and small groups.
  • Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment, using hand and arm dexterity;
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle for various recruiting events.
  • Frequent ability to lift general office documents and materials, up to 10 pounds;
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning.
  • The successful candidate must have experience in Asphalt Paving operations and a working knowledge of Asphalt Plant operations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and other software used for gathering reporting data.
  • Frequent vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Advanced working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements regarding equipment and job sites.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience working in a construction environment, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Autodesk proficient.
  • Ability to be flexible in learning new information and evolving the position.
  • Ability to travel as needed for training purposes.
  • Strong leadership and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Frequent ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
