The Fleet Equipment Mechanic inspects, repairs, overhauls, adjusts, and maintains all types of transportation and construction fleet equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer procedures.
Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing electrical/electronic, brake, hydraulic, fuel delivery, engine, transmission, cooling, heating, air‑conditioning, steering, and suspension systems; operating test equipment; conducting routine and emergency field maintenance; towing equipment; performing welding, body and panel repairs, and painting; operating testing and transport equipment; maintaining tools and work areas; reporting irregularities; directing and instructing assigned employees; assisting in training; complying with safety rules; and completing required reports and forms.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, successfully complete the Fleet Equipment Mechanic Program within 30 months, be able to perform, instruct, direct, and advise others in mechanic work, and hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with required endorsements.
