Under the direction of the Department Manager, the B&O Saw Operator ensures production of company products at the highest quality and lowest possible cost, following company policies and procedures, and embodying Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy.
The operator’s primary purpose is to control and operate metal saws and related processes, using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity, while coordinating with leads or supervisors to determine the run schedule.
In addition to core duties, the employee must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and adhere to company safety policies and standards of workplace behavior.
Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience), demonstrate basic mathematical abilities, and be able to read, write, and present simple information effectively.
The role requires frequent standing, walking, repetitive hand motions, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; hearing protection and other personal protective equipment are mandatory in the noisy environment with moving mechanical parts.
