Tasks

Summary: Safely and efficiently drives tractor/trailer to transport product to customers according to company guidelines, customer requirements, and applicable laws. -Operates tractor/trailer in accordance with Company Policies, DOT Guidelines, and applicable traffic laws during the day or night and in various traffic and weather conditions. -Clean and sweep truck and trailer as needed. -Obtains customer signatures on proof of delivery and submits to Dispatcher as required. -Report truck, trailer, equipment, and material problems and/or damage, accidents, and traffic violations promptly to the appropriate company official. -Responsible for securing cargo on trailer. -Operate and maintain a Mobile Electronic On Board Recording Device. -Attends departmental staff and safety meetings. -Conducts and documents pre- and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer. -At customer locations; must open, close and secure trailer curtains and/or doors for customer to unload product. -Makes product deliveries according to proper route and schedule as indicated on the manifest. -Ensure product accuracy and quality by scanning product tag numbers with a scanner and visually inspecting product as it is unloaded from the trailer.

What You Bring

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Employee must be able to pull a 175 lbs trailer curtain open and closed at each stop as well as un-strap and re-strap to secure the remaining load. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Local Truck Driver (Class A CDL) years required within the past (7) years Woodgrain is a drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free workplace. All offers of employment are contingent upon pre-employment background and drug screening, and some positions require a fitness for duty test. All applicants must be able to obtain a new DOT certified medical card and pass a WorkWell Physical Abilities test at time of hire. -Over the Road drivers - (2) years verifiable tractor trailer commercial driving experience within the past (3) years required -No reckless driving, speeding 15mph and over, leaving the scene of an accident in the past (3) years -No more than (2) moving violations within the past (3) years and no more than (3) -High School Diploma or GED -No DUIs within the last (7) years -Minimum 21 years of age -Current Class A CDL required -18- months verifiable tractor trailer commercial driving experience within the past (3) -Maintains a clean and professional appearance. -No at-fault DOT recordable accidents in the past (3) years
