Description

• Formulate paints to evaluate alkyd resin samples.
• Evaluate performance in coatings systems (adhesion, durability, weather resistance).
• Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and maintain accurate lab records.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Conduct chemical and physical testing of resins (acid value, hydroxyl value, molecular weight etc.).
• Optimize resin properties such as viscosity, drying time, hardness, and gloss for targeted applications.
• Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others
• Develop and synthesize alkyd resins using various raw materials (fatty acids, polyols, polyacids etc).
• Not an office based role – You will spend a majority of your time at the lab bench, conducting experiments and handling chemicals
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory requirements.
• Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (REACH, VOC compliance).
• Experience with waterborne alkyds, high-solid systems, or bio-based raw materials.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in alkyd resin synthesis and.
• Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
