  • Ensure supervised team comply with all safety standards, policies and processes to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk to staff.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations by providing up to date information on National Grid policies, processes and programs to regulatory bodies.
  • Supervise the operation and maintenance of Portable LNG equipment
  • Develop and conduct training module’s on vaporization equipment
  • Direct activities to ensure proper and timely maintenance of division equipment.
  • Understand, implement, and communicate National Grid policies, regulatory requirements and best practices. Promote and implement procedural best practice within the team in order to ensure all working practices are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage team workload to ensure that staffing is allocated and utilized effectively, to meet program goals;
  • Supervise a culturally diverse union workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Monitor and review business processes where appropriate to ensure National Grid is compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Work year round in harsh outdoor environments.
  • Communicate maintenance, operating and training information as well as changes to procedures and plant equipment to the Production Coordinator and others as necessary to ensure accurate and up to date records.

  • Understands the importance of plant operations procedures and standards of working and demonstrates the ability to give directions or demonstrations with clear reasons and rationales.
  • Able to coach, motivate and lead a team of operating and maintenance personnel and increase their capabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
  • Proven experience with DCS or SCADA systems, including hardware such as PLCs, computers, workstations, and communication devices, with the ability to program, configure, install, operate, document, and troubleshoot PLCs
  • Must have experience managing a team with the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and up to 5 years’ of related experience, or committed to ‘on the job’ training programs with practical experience of methods, processes and techniques relevant to area or discipline.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to apply consultation procedures and negotiation skills.
  • Become proficient in the applicable layers of the Process Safety Management (PSM) system relative to LNG Operations by attending and satisfactorily completing assigned training programs such as PHA, LOPA etc.
  • Can understand and identify training or developmental needs of plant staff and design and establish new programs of work to support them
  • The ability to develop electrical schematics, part list, conduit schedule, cable schedule drawings for LNG Facility related equipment
  • Requires the ability to think from first principles and demonstrates ability to challenge operations processes and use knowledge or trends to look at current situations or problems.
  • Experience working with union personnel
  • The ability to design and provide training on vaporization equipment and respective support equipment
