Responding promptly to urgent traffic signal malfunctions, including directing traffic and performing on-site repairs as needed.
Installing, repairing, and maintaining traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
Servicing traffic signal and fiber optic equipment by inspecting, testing, splicing, and replacing faulty components such as LED modules, electronic traffic components, cables, loop detectors, switches, and fixtures.

Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening
High School diploma or GED equivalency
Exposure to traffic hazards and noise while working near active roadways; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
Electrical and mechanical aptitude, including wiring, cabling, and equipment installation
IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification or equivalent is highly preferred
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds of tools, equipment, and materials as part of installation and maintenance tasks.
IMSA Level II or III Certification is highly preferred
Work involves physical exertion and extended periods in potentially uncomfortable positions during installation and troubleshooting tasks.
Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing at heights over 15 feet to access traffic signal equipment and related infrastructure.
Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing circuits, communications, and signal malfunctions
Minimum 3 years’ recent and verifiable experience as a Traffic Signal Technician
Requires manual dexterity for handling small components and wiring in confined spaces.
Frequent travel between job sites within assigned region; occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working at heights on ladders, poles, or elevated platforms when installing or repairing signal equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Effectively and professionally communicate with your crew mates and members of management
Proficiency in using tools and equipment, such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, splicing tools, and hand/power tools
Ability to distinguish the range of color spectrum
Ability to read plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Adaptability to work independently and as a part of a field crew
Strong technical knowledge of traffic signals, controllers, detection systems, and ITS equipment
Ability to walk, sit, stand, and drive for extended periods; occasional riding as a passenger to job sites.
