Travel may be required at times.
Work directly with disaster survivors and insurance providers on eliminating any potential duplications of benefits between Insurance Claims and Federal Disaster Assistance.
Communicate to property owners and insurers the amount of duplication of benefits and associated backup documentation.
Maintains knowledge of grant programs in order to interact with applicants, federal agency representatives, peers and project manager.
Establish and maintain relationships with disaster survivors, insurance agency representatives, peers, and project manager.
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Optimize procedures and maintain communication and focus.
Review insurance documentation and make determination on amount of duplication of benefits, if any.
Track, log, and file all communications, files, invoices, and e-mails in the project’s data management system.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess professional proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically strong Excel skills) and the ability to learn project-specific computer systems as needed (specifically SharePoint, Access, and proprietary computer systems).
Understanding of and ability to determine insurance coverage of residential, commercial, and auto policies.
Bachelor's degree and 2+ of related work experience with working knowledge of federal grant programs, specifically FEMA or FHWA programs, including related statutes, regulations, policies and processes. Four years additional industry experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Prior experience FEMA insurance preferred.

Experience with outreach programs to disaster survivors, external clients, and industry representatives is required.
