The CNC Break Press Operator (2nd Shift) is responsible for setting up and operating a press brake to form metal parts, following standard practices and job specifications. This role ensures accurate production by interpreting job packets, blueprints, and process sheets.
- Interpret job packets, BOMs, process sheets, and blueprints to plan production.
- Develop layout and sequence of operations for each part.
- Calculate angles, bend thicknesses, and other critical dimensions to select appropriate dies and fixtures.
- Set up and adjust press brake equipment, including stops, angles, and dies.
- Verify the first piece against specifications using protractors, gauges, and measuring tape.
- Randomly gauge work pieces during runs and make adjustments as needed.
- Change over equipment or tooling to accommodate new part requirements.
- Manually feed material through fabrication operations.
- Perform quality checks, complete checklists, verify counts, and record job times.
- Stage completed parts for movement or subsequent operations to maintain workflow.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to all safety rules.
- Manage physical inventory of materials and request reorders when necessary.

Operators use computer software, hand and power tools, protractors, cranes, pallet jacks, and the press brake, while wearing required PPE such as safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves, and steel‑toe footwear. Physical demands include frequent lifting, pushing up to 120 lb, and standing or moving throughout the shift.
