Key duties include applying ASHRAE commissioning guidelines, overseeing electrical equipment installation, startup, pre‑functional inspections, and acceptance testing. The engineer will also handle mechanical and plumbing system commissioning, work directly with general contractors, sub‑contractors, inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction, and protect JLL’s contractual position throughout design, construction, and post‑construction phases.
Responsibilities extend to developing commissioning plans, specifications, checklists, test scripts, and detailed standard operating procedures. The role requires preparing and managing project documentation, compiling site‑specific systems manuals, and using QA/QC and commissioning software such as BIM360, CxAlloy, and Facility Grid. Evaluating and supporting vendor training programs for installed equipment is also expected.
The engineer will schedule and coordinate JLL and project team members, ensure contractor compliance, and maximize staff efficiency. Front‑to‑back field activities include site visits, functional and integrated systems testing, and overseeing the preparation, review, and issuance of all required documentation. Travel up to 50 % to client sites across the United States may be required.
We are seeking a dynamic Construction QA/QC and Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support our Data Center / Mission Critical team. The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all project levels, requiring independent judgement to plan, prioritize, and manage a diverse workload in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will be detail‑oriented, organized, and a strong team player.
Applicants must have at least 10 years of relevant electrical engineering or field‑testing experience, including a minimum of 5 years in building commissioning or construction QA/QC. An ABET‑accredited engineering degree is preferred, and a Commissioning Professional certification is required; PE, PMP, or similar designations are strong assets. Proficiency with electrical test equipment, power quality meters, and experience with transformers, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, fuel oil systems, PDUs, and EPMS is essential.

The position offers an estimated total compensation of $150,000–$175,000 per year and is based on‑site in New York, NY (Orangeburg).
