What you would be doing

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Liaise with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and logistics.
  • Support the Plant Manager to ensure that manufacturing equipment is maintained, supported and available (as measured by OEE%).
  • Cost control: Monitor production costs, analyse budgets, and identify areas for cost savings.
  • Planning and scheduling: Create and manage production schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Health and safety: Enforce safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Quality assurance: Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Staff and resource management: Supervise production staff, assign tasks, and manage resources and costs.
  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety working practices and legislative regulations
  • Process optimisation: Oversee the entire production process, troubleshoot issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, especially the Equal Opportunities and Harassment Policy.
  • Equipment maintenance: Ensure equipment is maintained and operational.

  • Ideally 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal skills, you must be able to speak with employees, other department managers and senior management.
  • Capacity to assist change management – identify problems, their causes and practical solutions.
  • Ability to effectively support the Plant Manager to manage production deadlines, shipping dates and more and must manage their time accordingly
  • Team Player with ability to maintain effective working relationships across all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative
