We are looking for highly qualified and experienced Construction Inspectors whom have worked on private, federal, state or locally administered construction projects. The Inspector is responsible for managing and performing daily construction management and inspection services for various types of projects specific to the applicable discipline.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. WRA will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity. (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa)
The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements. Work may also be performed in noisy conditions or confined/enclosed spaces.
- Remaining in a stationary position—either standing or sitting—for extended periods of time
- Must be able to wear a properly fitted safety harness and be knowledgeable of the correct use and of regular inspection of the harness and components
- Applicants must have demonstrated inspection and management experience with transportation, utility, transit, and/or building construction projects requiring monitoring a contractor's work for conformance to the design plans, specifications and general permit requirements
- Building (M/E/P and Structural)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have experience in coordinating inspection duties with multiple simultaneously operating crews; experience tracking daily quantities, completing daily inspection reports, performing monthly estimates and as-built drawings
- Must be proficient at reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings as well as overseeing construction document controls and enforcing contract compliance
- Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment
- Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces
- Driving to and from project sites which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 120 miles round trip.
- Writing and drawing skills are necessary to complete inspection reports and documentation
- High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate required. Bachelor's Degree or other advanced certificate desirable
- Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Work from heights exceeding 6 feet
- The ability to read/interpret plans and specifications
- Must have a minimum of six (6) years of specific field construction inspection experience in the specified areas listed below
- Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) are required
- Must have relevant construction experience in the discipline applying in addition to the required certifications and qualifications
- Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document.
