Project lead engineer

Description

• Collaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed to with potential suppliers.
• Selection of Bus bar configuration & scheme and preparation of Main SLD (Single Line Diagram) including selection of primary equipment specifications.
• Improves effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions. Completes risk and opportunity assessments and ensures implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility.
• Preparation of Engineering BOQ for bus bar materials, cables, clamps, connectors, insulators & string hardware.
• Reports any contract/quality/program/cost issues to management along with recommendations for resolution.
• Preparation of Protection SLD (Single Line Diagram) which includes selection of protection schemes for line, transformer, reactor, bus bar etc.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Assists Tendering Manager in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, technical review of specifications etc.).
• Provides technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.
• Ensures adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks & ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
• Review of Primary equipment’s (Trafo, CB, Isolator, IT, WT etc.), Secondary equipment's (Control & Protection Panel Schematic, MV Switchgears, LT DBs, Battery, Battery Charger, JBs etc.).
• Assign tasks to and coordinates work with entry level engineers, technicians, administrative staff.
• Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. Provides quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivers within budget and contract.

Requirements

• Software skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, CDEGS & Microsoft Office
• Hands on experience to carry out various sizing calculations on substation design: Instrument Transformer sizing, Short Circuit Force calculation, Sag- tension calculation, DSLP calculation, Earthing Calculation, HT & LT cable sizing calculation, illumination design, battery & charger sizing, relay setting calculation etc.
• Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with minimum 6-8 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
