Mortenson is seeking an experienced Erection Superintendent for the Wind Group. The role requires interaction with staff at all levels in a changing environment, demanding flexibility, resourcefulness, proactive problem‑anticipation, creative problem‑solving, high professionalism, and confidentiality. The superintendent will coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities while developing strong customer relationships through excellent service.
The position involves nationwide travel with regular rotations home every three weeks for 5‑7 days and can be based anywhere in the United States.
This is not a Crane Superintendent role; candidates must understand wind‑tower construction, including electrical knowledge, torquing, and rigging, and be able to coach personnel toward higher leadership positions such as General Foreman to Assistant Superintendent.
Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience.
- Minimum 8 years construction experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in planning and scheduling using Excel; experienced with offload and foundation scheduling.
- Hands‑on experience with rigging, torquing, tools, and cranes; wind‑project experience preferred.
- Ability to manage large self‑perform projects and multiple complex assignments.
- Detail‑oriented with basic knowledge of construction law and business practices.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and strong customer‑service attitude.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 100 % with three‑week rotations.
