The Senior HRIS Advisor will support the configuration, maintenance and optimization of Suncor’s Human Capital Management (Workday) system. Acting as a subject‑matter expert, the role provides product leadership to ensure Workday delivers maximum value across multiple business units. The position balances hands‑on system work with process improvement and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities involve configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Workday HCM; managing system updates, releases, testing, deployments and documentation; ensuring data accuracy, privacy, and compliance; and acting as a SME to guide platform enhancements. The advisor will translate business and HR requirements into scalable Workday solutions, lead increasingly complex assignments, and contribute to process improvements. Collaboration with stakeholders across business units and partnership with IT and vendors are critical to delivering solutions on time and within scope.
Minimum requirements include 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with senior or lead‑level HRIS responsibilities, and advanced hands‑on experience with Workday HCM configuration and optimization. Candidates should hold Workday certifications (HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, etc.) and may also have HRIS or project‑management credentials such as CHRP or PMP. Experience with Workday reporting tools, analytics, and calculated fields, as well as strong collaboration and communication skills, is essential.
