Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Health and Safety and recommends changes in the company’s program
Attends all initial meetings with the Project Staff and Subcontractor Representatives to clearly define their role within the confines of the Project Program
Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, safety plans, and education of all supervisory personnel
Supervises training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations

Minimum of five years of experience in general construction with an emphasis on construction and/or industrial safety
Understanding of OSHA and other regulatory agency standards
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel), email, and internet navigation software
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and employees
An understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff
Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Electrical experience preferred
BCSP Certification preferred
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedure within the construction field
Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
Willing and able to visit a construction site at some time during employment
