You will join Amey’s Ministry of Justice facilities‑management team, delivering essential services for prisons across the UK and supporting the His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service to keep 60 secure sites safe, clean and efficient.
- Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including related administration.
- Conduct fault finding and problem solving on prison electrical systems.
- Execute like‑for‑like replacements and minor electrical works, ensuring inspections, tests and BS7671 compliance.
- Maintain safe, compliant, and functional electrical systems to support a secure environment.
- Assist the Responsible Person and Authorised Person as required.
- Ensure Health & Safety standards, risk assessments, and safe systems of work are followed.
- Carry out escort duties and other assigned tasks.

- City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition (or 17th Edition with upskilling).
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and planned maintenance operations.
- Excellent organisational, time‑management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and work at heights independently.
- Familiarity with fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable).
- Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Membership in Amey’s Affinity Networks.
