William Charles Electric, part of MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group, is seeking Field Engineer Interns for the Summer of 2026 to support its Rockford, IL office. Interns will assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager on assigned projects, focusing on quality plan implementation, site‑specific plans, material inventory, and receiving. The role is fully remote‑eligible, allowing candidates to live anywhere in the United States, with travel to project sites in Missouri, Indiana and Illinois and a designated per‑diem provided.
Applicants must be pursuing a four‑year undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have completed at least 24 college credits. They should be comfortable with construction site conditions, be prepared for 100 % project‑specific travel, and possess strong work ethic, teamwork, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
