The Solar PV & BESS O&M Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs utility‑scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage systems, performing tasks independently while adhering to strict safety procedures and contributing to overall site efficiency through preventative and corrective actions.
- Inspect, perform preventative maintenance, and conduct corrective repairs on AC/DC systems, including inverters, PV modules, transformers, switchgear, and high‑voltage components.
- Monitor plant operations via SCADA and assist with commissioning, testing, and system modifications.
- Follow Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out (LOTO) protocols to ensure site safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and support maintenance tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with remote operators to quickly identify and resolve site issues.
- Record all maintenance activities accurately using CMMS software.
- Provide guidance to less‑experienced technicians based on skill level.
- Execute installation tasks, including torquing, calibration, and use of specialized tools.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting across multiple OEM platforms and control interfaces.
- Develop and implement LOTO procedures and detailed electrical work plans.
- Interpret and create complex work procedures, schematics, and safety protocols.
- Act as primary customer interface, communicating site conditions and technical findings.
- Verify tooling and parts against work plans, adjust as needed, and generate reports.
- Train and mentor junior technicians, emphasizing safety standards and best practices.
- Develop and execute work plans and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain physical fitness to stand, walk (2+ miles), climb, bend, and lift up to 80 lb in varying weather conditions.
- Adhere to company drug‑free and alcohol‑free workplace policies.

- Hold a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent; electrical certifications are preferred.
- Possess experience in large‑scale solar O&M and competency in industrial power operations.
- Read electrical schematics, operate SCADA systems, and use CMMS for tracking maintenance.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills, especially in SCADA and CMMS applications.
- Advanced candidates: 4+ years solar industry experience, advanced LOTO knowledge, and ability to create complex schematics.
- Possess clear visual acuity and fine motor skills for precise tool and meter work.
- Be prepared for on‑call rotation and work outside normal business hours when required.
