Types: Define multiple Family Types within the family to represent size, graphic, or material variants (e.g., ST-101A vs. ST-101B).
Clash Management: Ensure all model elements are clash-free and properly assigned to categories and phases.
Documentation: Integrate the family into project schedules (Signage Schedule, Material Schedule) and validate that tags read the shared parameters correctly. Prepare sheets, views, and detailed drawings for final documentation packages.
Work closely with environmental graphic designers, project managers, sign engineers, and fabrication partners.
Placement: Integrate and place sign families into the master Revit model based on sign location plans and elevations.
Geometry & Parameters: Build accurate geometry to LOD 300, including correct thickness, material differentiation, and three-dimensional components (e.g., panel, backer, frame).
Preparation: Gather final design inputs, including dimensions, material callouts, mounting methods, vector artwork (AI/DWG), and the required LOD (e.g., LOD 300).
Coordination: Coordinate signage locations with architectural, interior, and environmental conditions to confirm adequate clearances, proper wall types, mounting substrates, and ADA compliance.
Template Setup: Choose the correct family template, preferably a Generic Model – Face Based.rft, for maximum flexibility and to avoid orphaning.
Communicate model changes, conflicts, or missing 2D information promptly.
QA/QC: Test the family's flexibility by ensuring geometry does not break, materials update, and symbolic lines are aligned. Set correct visibility settings for plan, elevation, and detail levels.
Support coordination meetings and contribute BIM expertise to address modeling challenges or architectural conflicts.
Intelligence: Establish locked dimensions and reference planes (width, height, depth).Create Shared Parameters (e.g., Sign Type, Message/Text Value, Mounting Height, Material) that allow for automatic scheduling and tagging.
Library Management: Maintain and update the clean, efficient sign family library following company standards for naming and metadata.

Overview
Founded in 1997
Year Established
The platform emerged as one of the first online meeting places for architects worldwide.
Based in Los Angeles, the platform grew from a community forum into a vibrant digital media company.
Its revenue stems from job-board listings, editorial partnerships, event sponsorships and an online store.
Typical projects include global news coverage, firm profiles, competition recaps, and architecture job postings.
Sector expertise spans Buildings, Residential, Commercial, Infrastructure, Education, Urban, and Public sectors.
Standout fact: it operates Outpost—a curated store offering rare architecture books, gifts, events and its own coffee blend.

Net-Zero Ambition
Almost all new buildings can achieve net-zero energy consumption.
Advocates for carbon-neutral architecture, promoting high-efficiency measures (better insulation, improved HVAC, less-polluting appliances) to decarbonize the building sector.
Showcases innovations like low-carbon concrete, cross-laminated timber, and living wall systems as scalable solutions.
Emphasizes sector focus on residential retrofits as key to meeting 2030 net-zero ambition.
