Workplace Technical Services Assistant Manager

Description

The Workplace Technical Assistant Manager supports day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of commercial real‑estate facilities, ensuring optimal building performance, tenant satisfaction, and preservation of asset value. This role oversees systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life‑safety, while coordinating with engineers, vendors, and maintenance staff.

• Oversee daily facility operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life‑safety systems
• Support preventive maintenance programs and manage vendor relationships
• Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/plumbing issues, and approve work orders
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
• Respond to tenant service requests, coordinate improvements, and manage move‑in/move‑out activities
• Assist with capital improvement projects, budgeting, cost control, and emergency response procedures

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or related field (preferred)
• 2‑3 years of commercial real‑estate or facility‑management experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life‑safety, and building automation systems
• Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and project‑management principles
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational ability and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Customer‑service focus and capability to work independently
• Preferred: professional certifications such as FMP, SFP, LEED AP
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and sustainability practices
• Background in managing Class A commercial office buildings
