Mace’s values shape how we consult: Safety First – promoting visible safety behaviours and adhering to local health and safety regulations; Client Focus – delivering quality systems, managing project plans from inception through construction, and supporting senior project managers; Integrity – managing budgets, highlighting risks and supporting sustainable business development; and Create Opportunity – fostering collaborative team environments and encouraging best‑practice networking.
The role involves delivering project objectives in line with the Project Plan, leading and supervising project teams and stakeholders to achieve key performance indicators. Responsibilities include coordinating technical services, managing external resources, monitoring timeframes and budgets, and ensuring robust quality systems and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Additional duties cover procurement of consultants and contractors, managing project changes and handover documentation, driving business priorities such as Construction to Production, Digital & Data, and Responsible Business practices, and contributing to the net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing associated emissions.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, possess technical expertise in construction methodologies and HSE regulations, and hold relevant professional qualifications or certifications. They will also mentor and develop team members, maintain a safe work environment, and uphold Mace’s values and behaviours in all interactions.

Candidates should have a relevant technical qualification or certification (e.g., MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE), a CSCS card or equivalent, and advanced proficiency in using project planning tools.
Desirable attributes include membership of professional bodies such as RICS, CIOB, APM or ICE, a degree in engineering, construction or related discipline, a driving licence and vehicle, and experience with water, utilities or civil infrastructure projects, particularly wastewater and potable water systems. Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations is also valued.
