Preconstruction Manager – Design Management Support

Description

Colliers Project Leaders is seeking a Preconstruction Manager – Design Management Support for its Owner’s Rep team, working remotely within the US for a key data‑center client. The role provides day‑to‑day coordination of the design process, managing documentation, schedules, and package tracking while upholding Procore standards and ensuring compliance across architects and engineers. Acting as a liaison among design teams, project management and construction, the manager drives clarity, closes submittals, resolves RFIs and assists with QA/QC, change management and tenant integration.

• Maintain Procore file structure and ensure architect/engineer compliance.
• Manage weekly design schedule updates and maintain accurate timelines.
• Track design packages, narratives, scopes and coordinate across buildings.
• Facilitate design alignment, incorporate lessons learned, and identify value‑engineering items.
• Coordinate design‑assist, EOR and subcontractor engagement; develop meeting trackers.
• Drive design clarity, close submittals and shop drawings, and lead coordination meetings.
• Conduct weekly construction‑administration meetings with A&E partners and handle submittal/RFI escalations.
• Perform site visits with A&E and QA/QC teams; oversee mock‑ups and field reviews.
• Serve as liaison between project management, construction management and A&E teams.
• Manage change orders and PCO entitlements, supporting cost‑management during RFIs or bulletins.
• QA/QC design issuances, ensuring change categories are documented at the drawing sheet level.
• Assist with customer/tenant design integration as needed.

Requirements

Qualified candidates hold a degree in architecture, design, construction management, engineering or a related field, and have at least four years of design, pre‑construction or project‑management experience with a design‑management focus. Familiarity with MEP systems and data‑center operations, as well as strong English communication skills, are required.
