Typical activities include defining subsea production system equipment and architecture for concept and FEED studies, conducting specialist studies for system expansion, life extension, fault finding and rectification, and managing packages for design, procurement, installation and commissioning of new systems. Additional responsibilities cover operations support, system integrity management, and interfacing with engineering and management teams.
Key accountabilities involve delivering subsea production systems in line with project requirements, client standards, industry guidelines and UK regulations. The engineer will perform critical tasks for the Assess‑Select and Define‑Execute phases of the Project Control and Assurance Plan, including field layout selection, control system design, vendor technical deliverables, risk assessments and technical reviews, while managing technical interfaces with external stakeholders.
The role seeks a seasoned Subsea Production Systems engineer to join the Subsea and Pipelines team, providing technical excellence and helping to expand Genesis' subsea offering. The engineer will contribute to the design, definition, and delivery of subsea production systems throughout all project phases, including installation, commissioning and operational support, for both traditional oil and gas projects and energy‑transition initiatives such as CCUS.
The candidate must have extensive experience in subsea production systems and control technologies, in‑depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards, and familiarity with umbilicals and hydraulic components. Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, proven ability to prepare technical reports, and hands‑on experience in FEED, manufacturing, consultancy, OEM design or offshore environments are required. A track record of delivering, installing and commissioning subsea production systems and the right to work in the UK are essential.
