As part of our expanding Facilities and Construction Engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and assessment of civil and structural systems and components supporting both traditional nuclear facilities and emerging nuclear technology initiatives, including modular construction and advanced reactor programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design within modular or conventional construction frameworks.
- Conduct Constructability Reviews during early design stages to assess feasibility, evaluate modularization opportunities, and optimize construction sequencing and access.
- Lead and support Nuclear Facilities Design activities, including preparation of building layouts, architectural interfaces, and facility upgrade designs aligned with operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Perform civil/structural analysis and design for new and existing nuclear facilities, including foundations, framing systems, and reinforced concrete and steel structures.
- Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior engineers and designers.
- Interface with construction, procurement, and utility partners throughout the project lifecycle—from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction, modular assembly, and project closeout.
- Conduct condition and performance assessments of existing civil structures and develop recommendations for repair, reinforcement, or upgrade.
- Provide Engineering Request (ER) Support, delivering timely and practical field engineering solutions to emergent site issues, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Support and develop modular construction strategies, including module interface definition, transport and lifting design, sequencing, and onsite assembly planning to optimize constructability and minimize schedule risks.
- Apply knowledge of construction methods, modular fabrication, and digital construction technologies to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency in project delivery.
- Provide Construction System Design services, offering engineering support for construction means and methods, including temporary works, scaffolding, shoring, rigging, and lifting systems to ensure safe and efficient field execution.
- Provide field engineering support, including on-site verification, design clarifications, and review of contractor submittals and change requests.
