Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation' and maintenance of Water Treatment and Distribution Systems.
1-3 years’ experience in the water treatment and distribution industry preferred but will consider other related experience.
A valid State of Maine motor vehicle operator's license.
Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
No operator licenses are required to apply. We welcome candidates who are motivated to grow in the field and have the ability to become licensed. Preference will be given to those who already hold a Maine Class I Operator-in-Training Treatment and/or Class I Operator-in-Training Distribution License, but we will also consider strong applicants without licenses who are eager to pursue them. The goal is for all operators to achieve Maine Class II Full Treatment and Class II Distribution Licenses within 2 years of hire, with support provided along the way.
Knowledge or ability to learn the hazards and safety precautions involved in water treatment work.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
Knowledge of computer applications.
Experience with the maintenance of pumps, compressors and plumbing fixtures, or a background in maintenance is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
