The primary focus of the Category Manager role is to be responsible for all category activities for the spend areas in their domain. These activities include developing annual plans and sourcing strategies that will drive best‑in‑class management of spend areas. The role is accountable for delivering year‑over‑year total value improvement and savings for the company, leading supplier and category management, and turning key data into insights for fact‑based decisions.
Core competencies include influencing others, building trusting relationships, and delivering sourcing KPIs. The position follows an 8‑hour non‑rotating shift, complies with corporate, regulatory, and compliance policies, and Shaw Industries is an equal‑opportunity employer.
The Category Manager works closely with internal resources and business partners across Shaw, building collaborative and influential relationships. Understanding business goals and aligning sourcing strategy with them is essential, as is a high degree of customer‑service orientation and the ability to influence partners to achieve results.
Candidates need at least five years of procurement, operations, or supply‑chain experience and a bachelor's degree, with advanced degrees or certifications such as CPSM, MBA, or APICS preferred. They must demonstrate strategic procurement management, category‑strategy development, and strong financial and business acumen.
