The role involves installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment while adhering to MasTec Health, Safety and Environmental policies and industry standards such as OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, and ANSI. Responsibilities include climbing towers, erecting various tower types, off‑loading material, preparing sites, installing carriers, assisting with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole lifts, assembling monopoles and other tower structures, installing antennas and transmission lines, completing grounding and conduit work, mentoring new technicians, and performing other assigned duties.
- Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment.
- Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).
- Climb towers and ladders; perform tower erection and assist with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole lifts.
- Off‑load material, prepare and clean sites, and install carriers on new build and existing towers.
- Assist in assembling monopoles, weld‑down, self‑support, and guyed towers.
- Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas.
- Install transmission lines (coaxial, hardline, waveguide) and complete grounding, foundations, and conduit work.
- Mentor less‑experienced technicians and perform other assigned duties.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least two years of tower experience, and the ability to read and follow technical prints. A safety‑first mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and a hands‑on approach are essential, as is the ability to lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, climb towers, and hold a valid driver’s license; NWSA certification is a plus.
- Minimum high school diploma and at least 2 years tower‑technician experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical prints and follow instructions.
- Knowledge of safety standards; NWSA certification is a plus.
- Physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours per shift.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
