Production Operatives are responsible for setting up and running decanting stations, performing IBC and drum changes, controlling pump speeds and verifying weights on scales. They label containers and pallets, follow production work orders and bills of materials, calculate fill weights, and pack cartons and pallets according to specifications. The role also includes operating lifting equipment, wrapping and banding pallets, conducting quality inspections, maintaining housekeeping, and recording operational data to maximise productivity and minimise waste.
- Use appropriate PPE (gloves, masks, safety shoes, eye protection) at all times.
- Set up and operate decanting stations, including IBC/drum changes, scale checks and pump speed adjustments.
- Label containers and pallets per product specifications.
- Follow production documentation such as work orders, bills of materials and pack codes.
- Calculate fill weights based on bulk material specific gravity.
- Pack and palletize cartons according to work order requirements.
- Operate lifting and handling equipment (drum changers, pallet trucks) safely.
- Wrap, strap and band pallets manually or with equipment.
- Perform quality inspections on finished products.
- Record production run times, quantities and other data on paper/electronic systems.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement and Kanban inventory management projects.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the shift.
- Apply basic math and English skills to interpret instructions accurately.

The position requires solid basic mathematics, strong English comprehension and confidence in using automated filling equipment; an FLT licence is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must be able to lift and stack containers of 8 kg to 20 kg throughout the shift. Expected behaviours include adherence to safety, care and trust values, working under pressure, taking ownership, promoting team spirit, and continuously seeking improvement.
- Ability to manually lift/stack containers weighing 8 kg–20 kg for the duration of a shift.
- Demonstrate reliability, initiative and teamwork while meeting strict deadlines.
