Assistant Operator, Vacuum Truck Services

Description

The Labourer will report directly to Imperial St Transport and work with the Transport team to deliver exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities include confined space entry, spill cleanup, power washing, and loading and hauling various fluids and materials, as well as setting up and tearing down hoses and berms of different sizes. The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

• Safely operate GFL equipment in an challenging setting
• Follow company policies and procedures as well as various on-site requirements
• Provide exceptional service to all clients and professionally represent GFL
• Complete daily equipment pre‑trips and driver logs required for NSC compliance, GEOTAB
• Maintain detailed and accurate company documentation to accompany work performed
• Participate in safety programs such as safety meetings, near miss reporting and job hazard assessments

Requirements

• Work independently while managing time and productivity and communicate effectively
• Minimum G driver’s license with preference to those with DZ, a clean driver’s abstract
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Safety‑focused attitude with experience working in an industrial setting
• Possesses cleanliness and organizational skills
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned

Benefits

The successful candidate will receive full training in confined‑space entry and will operate in a unionized (USW) environment.
