Responsible for daily maintenance and project execution, the incumbent must maintain strong working relationships with the client and all project disciplines, and understand the overall project schedule as it relates to other disciplines and subcontractor requirements. The role also includes ensuring site safety and quality standards, mentoring and coaching team members, and recommending improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and development plans. They are expected to drive continuous improvement and support change management initiatives.
- Monitor, verify and report on construction and maintenance activities for compliance with the weekly schedule.
- Coordinate and interface effectively with other craft superintendents, subcontractors, staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
- Work collaboratively with a team and provide input as needed.
- Coordinate multi-discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project or all related crafts of a single discipline.
- Incorporate an accident‑free philosophy into all aspects of daily work activities.
- Communicate and work closely with Project Managers, Coordinators, and Engineering to ensure adherence to client procedures and standards.
- Conduct foreman meetings to review and assist in daily, weekly, and monthly planning.
- Develop and monitor a 3‑week look‑ahead schedule for the assigned work scope.
- Develop corrective plans to ensure progress and productivity targets are met.
- Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management to direct reports.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards applicable to duties and accountabilities.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and manage change associated with implementation of improvements.
- Supervise daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff in an assigned area.
- Resolve standard and non‑standard problems; set priorities and coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
- Apply operational and supervisory expertise to solve problems within the area of responsibility.
- Interpret customer needs, assess requirements, and coordinate resources to meet short‑term objectives.
- Manage employee performance through task assignments, ongoing skill assessment, and coaching.
- Work within budget to meet operational objectives set by management.
