- Excellent technical leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of highly competent professionals and work with people at all levels of the organisation.
- A strong network within the sector and the ability to generate opportunities through leverage of this network.
- Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High accuracy of work and outstanding attention to detail.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed analytical and research skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills using the Microsoft Office suite.
- A strong and evidenced track-record of outstanding technical delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Chartered Professional Engineer, with knowledge and experience working to NZ Standards and Codes, and experience with local authorities and agencies.
- Ability to work autonomously, take direction and work as part of a team.
- Ability to apply and develop civil engineering principles, standards and concepts as well as generate technical reports as required
- Proven ability to independently achieve work objectives, to meet tight time frames and to prioritise work to meet business requirements.
- Able to engage managers, employees and external parties to achieve safe outcomes balanced with delivering customer and commercial expectations
- Ability to use initiative and implement new ideas.
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience as a civil engineer, working in a role within a professional office environment.
