As Senior Project Controls Manager you will lead project teams in a collaborative environment, interacting positively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be accountable for adhering to the client’s project governance, including risk, cost and change control, and work closely with other business teams to ensure successful delivery.
Safety is a core value; you will champion Mace’s “Safety first” principle and maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance standards. You will also promote a diverse and inclusive workplace, recognising the wellbeing of the people you manage.
Focused on client delivery, you will design and implement effective PMO and Project Controls frameworks, support best‑in‑class service delivery and engage with industry bodies to promote Mace. You will build strong professional relationships with clients, contractors, consultancies and other stakeholders.
Integrity guides your actions as you manage project teams in cost, schedule, change, risk and reporting, and support senior PMO stakeholders in shaping long‑term strategy. You will hold others accountable to uphold Mace values and contribute to a sustainable business future.
You will mentor, coach and develop your project team, fostering knowledge sharing and career growth while integrating Project Controls with PMO and planning disciplines. Collaboration with the HUB PMO and Project Controls Director on resourcing and recruitment is also part of the role.
The ideal candidate has extensive PMO and Project Controls leadership experience on complex construction projects, a deep understanding of risk tools (e.g., Power BI, Primavera P6, Aconex, RiskHive) and the ability to manage uncertainty. Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, attention to detail and resilience in high‑pressure environments are essential.
Professional credentials include APM Planning and Project Controls Foundation/Practitioner qualifications and progress towards chartered status or equivalent membership. A relevant university degree in construction, engineering or a related field, and progress towards P3O/P3M3 accreditation are also desirable.
