Engineering Team Manager

Plans, builds, operates and maintains England’s motorways and major A roads.
Manage integration of major projects & third‑party schemes into Operations, ensuring readiness.
Coordinate and ensure good flow of communications between all relevant stakeholders so that any changes to project scope, timescales, requirements or specifications can be assessed and relevant plans can be adjusted to minimise risks and knock on impacts.
Work with internal Operations colleagues (Engineering teams, Service Delivery teams etc.) to understand the implications of new assets entry into service and ensure that appropriate business readiness activities are planned and implemented in time to ensure robust handover of new assets and ultimately, that project benefits can be achieved.
Proactively manage and coordinate the escalation of major risks and issues with regional stakeholders (i.e. Regional Director, Route Sponsors, etc.), ensuring implications are understood and mitigating actions can be agreed in a timely manner.
Become an integral team member ensuring Operations related inputs, decisions and approvals are planned, coordinated and delivered in a timely and consistent manner.
Ensuring the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered and accounted for throughout the planning and delivery of each service activity.
Promote and focus the needs and interests of Operations and regional customers on major projects, influencing and advising on any relevant project decisions, risks and issues.

Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant technical standards, asset policies, asset operation and maintenance requirements.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
