The Facilities Systems Technician is a critical position responsible for the operation, maintenance, and strategic repair of all physical infrastructure and critical building systems within our corporate office and R&D spaces. This role ensures a professional, safe, and fully operational environment, directly supporting both administrative functions and research activities.

  • General Facility Upkeep: Perform general maintenance duties, including carpentry, painting, patching, lock repair, and other cosmetic or minor structural repairs to maintain the professional appearance of the office and R&D spaces.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all facility safety protocols and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, environmental regulations). Document all required safety procedures, which may include reviewing energy control (LOTO) protocols for equipment within the facility.
  • Utility Infrastructure: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building utility systems.
  • Capital & Infrastructure Projects: Accountable for identifying, developing, and coordinating repairs, upgrades, and replacement of facility infrastructure. Assist the Manager in drafting capital expenditure requests for necessary equipment.
  • Logistical Support: Provide ad-hoc support for office operations, including setting up specialized meetings, coordinating internal office moves, and space reconfigurations.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as the on-site liaison for third-party contractors and service providers (e.g., custodial, specialized systems repair, landscaping, pest control), ensuring work is completed safely and to standard.
  • Fire & Life Safety: Conduct routine inspections, tracking, and basic repairs on the facility's fire protection and alarm systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for external fire/life safety vendor coordination.
  • HVAC & Environmental Control: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the facility's complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
  • Work Order Management: Efficiently complete all assigned work within the computer-based maintenance management system (CMMS), including Preventive Maintenance (PMs), projects, and service requests. Accountable for maintaining records and operating documents required for the facility and its equipment.
