As a mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for supporting with projects across several industrial sites in the North West (primarily in the Wirral Area, but not exclusively). This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining systems, machines, and processes to solve practical problems and improve efficiencies. Industries may include FMCG, construction, food production or pharmaceutical.
- Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with industry regulations and safety standards
- Supporting mechanical activities on Blue Chip Client sites
- Providing mechanical solutions to problems using engineering expertise – Design through to installation
- Maintaining manufacturing equipment and machinery predominantly in FMCG and pharmaceutical environments
- Provide mechanical engineering support to engineering project management team
- Mechanical modification of existing equipment in packaging manufacturing environment

Location: North West based, ideally around the Wirral area

- Strong understanding of engineering material properties and design principles
- Good at using Microsoft packages at a basic level to write reports and interact with spreadsheets
- Good communication skills as this will be a client facing role
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of reading technical drawings (CAD)
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to interact with site utilities (compressed air, steam, water, etc) and modify piping systems within limits of design
- Use of FLT, MEWP, Scissor lifts and other plant and equipment (training and licenses preferred, but will be provided)
- Experience of working with manufacturing lines in fast-paced environment
- General mechanical snagging in a manufacturing line environment
- Desired: experience working in a blue chip factory environment
- Ability to work well independently with a brief from the client or project manager
- Strong understanding of working safely and risk perception
- Ability to design bespoke solutions for the client or needs of a project manager
- Strong hand tool skills – bench fitting
- Experience of working with all types of pumps, motors and rotating equipment
- Recognised apprenticeship/time served in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Desired: experience working from MEWPs & Scissor Lifts
- Desired: IOSH certification
- Strong understanding of machining processes
