Controller

Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: OEG is looking for a Controller to be the leader of our Finance team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial activities, preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Additionally, the Controller will collaborate with different departments to support strategic decision-making.

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial procedures.
• Collaborate with departments across the organization to provide financial insight and reporting.
• Manage general ledger activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and external audit requirements.
• Oversee regulatory reporting and compliance (e.g., sales tax, 1099s, etc.).
• Support the annual audit and tax filing process by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Public accounting experience or experience in a similar individual contributor role preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and independently, without direct reports.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in accounting software, including QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel; ERP experience preferred, with familiarity in NetSuite and Aspire a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
