You’ll also play a crucial role in supporting NATA-accredited testing, interpreting results, troubleshooting non-conformances, and contributing to a strong quality culture within a high-performance operational environment.
- Support and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide frontline technical support to operations, particularly where product or process issues are identified
- Support laboratory staff with training, technical guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify and escalate non-conformances, driving corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in internal audits and external compliance assessments (e.g., ISO 9001, ACRS, NATA)
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab testing equipment to ensure ongoing compliance
- Perform and supervise daily mechanical testing of steel reinforcing products in accordance with national standards
- Maintain and update laboratory documentation, SOPs, and records in accordance with quality system requirements
- Interpret test results and report deviations, trends, and out-of-spec outcomes with technical accuracy

You are a practical and detail-oriented technician with a solid understanding of steel properties and materials testing methods. You enjoy being on the floor, solving problems, and seeing quality outcomes firsthand.
We’re seeking a technically minded Laboratory and Systems Coordinator with a passion for materials testing and a deep understanding of steel mechanical properties. Based on-site, this is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring that our products meet rigorous performance, quality, and compliance standards.
Working across InfraBuild Mesh, InfraBuild Reinforcing (IBR), and Australian Reinforcing Company (ARC), you’ll be the go-to expert in mechanical testing processes—tensile strength, elongation, bend testing, and other key physical properties—supporting both production teams and compliance requirements.
- Current driver’s licence and flexibility to travel to other sites on occasion
- Technical knowledge of steel mechanical properties (e.g., tensile, yield, elongation, bend, fatigue testing)
- Excellent time management and the ability to balance routine testing with quality investigations
- High attention to detail and the ability to interpret and communicate technical data
- Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to investigate test failures or inconsistencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal to clearly articulate and document information to all levels of the business
- Familiarity with AS/NZS 4671 and other relevant Australian Standards
- Prior hands-on experience in a ISO IEC 17025 (NATA accredited) or ISO9001-compliant testing environment
