The Maintenance Technician – Material Handling Equipment role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment within an automated warehouse. The technician troubleshoots electrical and mechanical issues, maintains conveyor systems, and supports continuous operations through flexible scheduling and thorough documentation.
- Execute preventive maintenance routines on material handling equipment and record results.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical/mechanical components such as belts, motors, sensors, and relays.
- Perform predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain conveyor systems and automation controls.
- Adhere to OEM safety guidelines and promote a safe workplace.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and replacement parts.
- Log all work orders and equipment status in the CMMS.
- Interpret blueprints and electrical schematics for repairs.
- Communicate with operations teams to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Apply strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills in equipment troubleshooting.

Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent, have at least one year of PC competency (Word, Excel, Outlook), and possess a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles. The position requires the ability to lift up to 49 lb, bend, kneel, and work 12‑hour shifts, often in noisy, temperature‑varying conditions.
Preferred applicants include those with an associate degree or higher in a mechanical or electrical field, relevant certifications, and two or more years of experience with automated conveyor systems, predictive maintenance, and material‑handling equipment. Familiarity with CMMS, PLCs, AutoStore ASRS, and lean maintenance practices is also valued.
- Lift up to 49 lb and perform physical tasks including bending, crouching, and standing for long shifts.
- Preferred: Associate degree or certifications and 2+ years experience with automated conveyors, PLCs, and CMMS.
