Review products, services and technologies available from vendors, and incorporate into design of improvements as appropriate.
Draft technical memoranda, reports and project correspondence.
Develop detailed estimates of work quantities and costs to assist with evaluating alternatives, and for use by clients in budgeting and evaluation of bids.
Assist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
Analyze system hydraulics, and assist with development and evaluation of water distribution and collection system hydraulic models.
Perform specialized assignments which call for an application of professional expertise.
Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.
Perform site work as required.
Perform professional water and wastewater engineering work to evaluate system improvements.
A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
As part of a team, participate in design of water and wastewater system improvements, and development of engineering studies and reports.
Conduct field measurements and collect data of existing water and wastewater facilities to assist with identifying causes and solutions of operational issues.
Perform complex design tasks and develop drawings using AutoCAD and other software systems.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Knowledge of water and wastewater system hydraulics.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit drafting
Proficient with technical writing, office automation, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
Experience with preparing permit applications for oversight agencies to address the full range of issues and conditions associated with water and wastewater projects.
Licensed professional engineer in CT or NY
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Must be able to travel to project sites in the northeastern US, which may include multiple day extended assignments on site.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Knowledge of water engineering principles and practices, process design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase procedures.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in water system engineering.
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
