Group H&S Lead

Join a leading facilities management and property services organisation as their Group H&S Lead, where you’ll set the strategic direction for Health & Safety across the business. • Support operational managers in hazard identification and control across FM service lines.
• Act as the company’s competent person under UK regulations.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Provide leadership and direction to the HSEQ function and manage a small team.
• Advise senior management and the Board on H&S performance, risk, and compliance.
• Develop and implement the Group Health & Safety strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Deliver health and safety training programmes and competency assessments.
• Lead internal and external audits and liaise with enforcing authorities when required.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation (HSWA 1974, CDM 2015, RIDDOR, COSHH) and ISO 45001 standards.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in health and safety management within FM, property, or construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and ISO 45001 systems.
• Previous leadership experience managing a small team.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and report-writing skills.
• Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), CMIOSH (or working towards), experience with ISO 14001/9001, and training qualifications.
