The Healthcare Superintendent supports the General or Senior Superintendent in overseeing one or more operational areas of a construction project. This role coordinates and schedules multiple construction crews, determines construction requirements, plans procedures, and ensures subcontract work meets required specifications. The position also participates in inspections of work and equipment to verify safety and compliance, and may require up to 100% travel.
- Coordinate and manage daily field operational objectives, timelines, and goals.
- Monitor overall project progress and review team processes to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality.
- Assist Senior Superintendent in monitoring schedule and budget, and collaborate with subcontractors on recovery plans.
- Meet regularly with staff and subcontractors to discuss progress, obstacles, and remove barriers.
- Read construction documents to determine requirements and plan procedures.
- Record, maintain, and report personnel, production, project logs, status, and other operational data.
- Manage site safety by walking the site, conducting inspections, providing training, and meeting with staff and subcontractors.

The role involves both indoor and outdoor work in varied weather conditions, requiring physical ability to walk, stand, sit for prolonged periods, and perform tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting moderate weights (up to 50 lb unassisted, greater with assistance), and operating equipment. Vision and hearing must be within normal ranges, with or without correction.
- Hold a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Possess 5–7 years in construction management, including 1–3 years in healthcare construction and at least one superintendent project.
- Demonstrate knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and safety procedures.
- Understand all construction crafts such as carpentry, concrete, structural steel, and interior build‑outs.
- Experience managing performance and leading a diverse field team.
- Proficient in general computer skills (MS Office).
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
