The Pursuit Specialist role is critical for developing and implementing winning strategies for complex proposals. This position leads strategic planning sessions, crafts value propositions, and works with cross‑functional teams to produce competitive proposals that meet client needs and align with company goals. The role spans from pursuit initiation through capture planning, proposal production, and interview preparation, partnering with principals, proposal managers, project managers, and technical team members. Based in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, it is a full‑time salaried position reporting to the Business Development Enablement Manager and requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Core duties encompass strategic planning and development, proposal management, content creation, client and market analysis, collaboration, and quality assurance. The specialist facilitates capture plans, conducts thorough RFP analyses, leads proposal kickoff and review meetings, develops executive summaries and visual assets, researches client needs and market trends, and coordinates contributions from internal and external partners. Continuous improvement is driven through quality control processes, debriefs, and updates to templates and best practices.
Key responsibilities include adhering to Huitt‑Zollars’ business processes and quality management system, fostering teamwork, maintaining current job knowledge, providing administrative support, delivering assignments on time and within budget, and proposing more effective ways to accomplish work.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and bring at least seven years of proposal management experience, preferably within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. A proven record of winning complex proposals, exceptional writing and editing skills, strong organization and management abilities, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and optionally digital asset management or proposal software are required.
The position requires prolonged desk work, occasional lifting of up to 25 lb, and occasional travel to client or project sites.
