Quantity Surveying degree or other commercially related discipline or relevant extensive experience in Programme and Project commercial pre and post contract activities, including all activities associated with Cost Management
Ability to operate both autonomously and as a part of a larger multi-disciplinary team providing commercial support
Extensive experience in setting and implementing procurement strategies, developing and executing the procurement strategy including the running of tenders and advising the project team on the development of contract conditions and amendments, particularly NEC
Experience in developing a Commercial and Cost Team including establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities
Demonstrable experience in Commercial and Cost standards and procedures, along with highly developed commercial skills and demonstratable ability to make sound decision on matters of significant financial value
Flexibility in work location, potential travel required 2-3 times weekly depending on project
Excellent IT skills, oral and written communication, organisation skills and good analytical thinking
Preferred experience in using electronic measurement systems and other cost and contract management tools
Experience in the water, environment and regulated industries
Ideally Chartered MRICS or working towards chartered status (MRICS) and a commitment to CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
Previous experience of commercial management and administration of a wide range of contracts, and all aspects associated with the writing, placing and administration of contracts, particularly NEC contracts and experience in using CEMAR (Contract Event Management and Reporting) or similar
