Provide support to Project Managers within the design team in planning, programming, technical input to the pricing of project briefs, proposals, deliverables and cost estimation.
Mentor and upskill more junior staff helping them develop professionally and progress towards professional qualifications.
Work together with the team and other disciplines in providing an integrated service to clients.
Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads Bridges (DMRB).
Be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, technical reports, detailed designs and production of contract documents across a variety of projects.
Develop designs using AutoCAD, Civil3D models (as and where applicable).
Provide technical support and leadership where required.
Be accountable for checking, certifying, and authorising for issue: designs, documents, approvals, and reports.
Manage graduate engineers and technicians to deliver work packages - coordinating engineering resources.
Deliver work packages with scope to move up to managing schemes and multi-disciplinary teams.
Work collaboratively with clients and key stakeholders as necessary to deliver schemes/projects.

An extensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation, standards and procedures including the application of departures from standard.
A BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and preferably Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
Demonstrable and significant experience in highway design working in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and other standards/best practice guidance.
An understanding of the commercial aspects of project delivery.
NEC and/or Project Management experience (advantageous).
