The engineer will collaborate with structural and multidisciplinary teams, guide junior members, and contribute to the design of new nuclear facilities such as Small Modular Reactors, Advanced Reactors, and Medical Isotope Facilities, as well as upgrades to domestic and international plants.
Key responsibilities include applying knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and reinforced‑concrete design; preparing calculations, specifications, and drawing sets; performing analysis of frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations with modern software; and traveling to client, vendor, and plant sites for design reviews and field verification.
The role is based in a hybrid schedule, requiring three days per week in the Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners, GA.
Candidates must hold a BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET‑accredited program, have at least three years of experience on AISC steel and ACI concrete projects, be proficient with STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS, and understand ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI codes; strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Preferred qualifications include an MS in Civil Engineering, experience with power‑plant or industrial structures, on‑site construction support, and a professional PE or SE license.
