In this role you will prepare water and soil samples for hexavalent chromium analysis, maintain and operate ion chromatography instruments, prepare solutions and standards, keep workstations tidy, clean glassware, and maintain organized records. You will also peer‑review data, manage sample backlogs and due dates, communicate status updates to group leaders, assist with inventory, and adhere to quality, health, and safety policies.
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or a related field preferred, as well as prior laboratory experience. Candidates should possess knowledge of analytical methods, instruments, GLP, lab safety, strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and experience with ion chromatography.

Our Denver laboratory is part of a network of nine labs serving air, water, and soil testing, and the Wet Chemistry Department focuses on ion chromatography sample preparation and data review. The role starts with a Monday‑Friday training period on the first shift, with the expectation of one weekend day and potential for an alternative schedule.
